Six Quick Things
An early February edit.
I started this newsletter with the simple constraint of six things (no more, no less). As much as I love the newsletters I subscribe to, I was beginning to grow tired of longer-form, link-packed posts that left me feeling more indecisive than when I started. The idea behind six quick things was to force a commitment (to six instead of everything), and to create a digestible, on-the-go read, given the state of everyone’s inboxes these days. This restraint has proved harder than I anticipated!! But it has also forced a POV, which I hope has been useful.
This is one of those weeks where committing to six felt especially difficult. I find this time of year a fun moment for the hunt. While there isn’t much particularly fun about the beginning of February, shopping might be the exception. Maybe because it’s a bit of an escape, but also because cold-weather items are still very much top of mind (and useful), while investing in pieces like the red jeans below feels fun and optimistic.
So, without further ado, six quick things perfect for this transitional moment that I think are worth a moment of your time…
Because we all need a pop of red right now! These jeans are supremely flattering and the perfect shade. I urge you to try them—or anything from this brand. They will not disappoint.

I’ve been wearing this blazer on repeat for the last month. It has a roomy fit that’s perfect for layering and a weight that feels right for this time of year. I’ve been wearing mine with a black turtleneck and occasionally with a tassel belt. Plus, it is now officially on super sale.

I have a thing for bags that aren’t totes but can still fit a shocking amount. This is one of those bags!! I mean it when I say it holds more than you’d expect. I love the size, shade, and how perfectly it sits on your shoulder (which, as we know, is not always a given). And, if you’re in the market for something more laptop-friendly, there’s a larger sister version as well.

There is no month like February to create a static frenzy of baby hairs all around my head. That and the inch of postpartum hair I have sprouting all around my face. I had given up and resigned myself to a relentless halo of baby hairs until I found this stick. It’s a miracle! I carry it everywhere in my purse, and it manages to tame everything without ever looking like a gel?

I always find something at Soeur when I’m in Paris. They make excellent staples. This fall, my favorite purchase was this pair of pants. I had been on a long hunt for casual, baggy corduroys until I found them. I love the weight, too. And yes — a major sale. (If you’re browsing, I highly recommend checking the coats tab. I’m technically cheating on six by mentioning it, but it’s worth it.)

The kitchen essential (according to an amateur)
My kitchen MVP!!! I could be a saleswoman for these shears. I am an amateur in the kitchen at best, so if you’re unsure why you need kitchen shears I understand. But I promise, once you you have them you will find endless ways to use them. Chopping lettuce… slicing pizza….
Enjoy!

Happy weekend! x

I’m thinking I need the ✂️ scissors
