Six Quick Things
A satin jacket, a perfect Saturday shirt, and an antique art source worth a moment of your time.
It’s around this time of year when life starts moving at a clip so fast I begin questioning its sustainability. This year in particular, the acceleration from January into February felt fast and furious — and I know I’m not alone in this. Everyone I talk to seems to be moving at a gallop that’s testing the limits of their capacity.
Then last weekend, before leaving LA after a memorably fast and furious work trip, I had dinner with a dear friend. We have a standing date every six months for an hours-long dinner that covers everything from business (we started our companies at the same time) to babies (we gave birth within a month of each other), and all that falls in between. And it was over that dinner that I was reminded of the saying: “What a privilege it is to be tired in the pursuit of a challenge of your own choosing.” And just like that… it’s amazing how powerful a small shift in perspective can be. How lucky am I! What a privilege it all is. So I’ll leave you with that. This has sat at the top of my notebook every day this week, and will stay there as long as I need the reminder.
So as I write from my nap time perch as snow pelts the window and the apartment is momentarily quiet, I am feeling very grateful—for all of it! And right now for this little corner of the internet we get to have fun with together.
I have a small collection of what I call “Saturday shirts”. They’re cozy, practical, and have the potential to layer up into a cuter outfit later on but also are just fine as is. This is my newest one! I love these shirts. There’s a certain sturdiness to them that makes them feel nice.

The rollout was perfect — the art direction, all of it. And the Eckhaus Latta take was my favorite. I was sad to miss it before they sold out, and found myself checking the site more than once hoping for a small restock... Good news: they've just reopened preorders, so we can still get in line while there's time :)

This jacket is perfect for the transitional season (I pray) we are entering. I’m wearing it exactly as it's styled on the site—with cream, tan and easy layered neutrals. I love the black for more of an evening look, also. It adds just the touch a spring outfit needs to feel special.

If the above is the perfect transitional jacket, this is the perfect transitional shoe. The cut and the lines on these mules are perfection. They’re flattering on everyone, and the shoe is tailored but also easy. I love the black calf, but have a soft spot for the cow print hair calf too.

I put jeans in the same category as bathing suits when it comes to difficulty of shopping. As such, I go through phases of being more or less motivated to really get it right, because doing so takes real time and effort! So when someone you trust (for me, our brilliant stylist on set last week) recommends a great pair, you jump. And now that I’ve tried them on I can attest! This pair from JW Anderson’s line for Uniqlo is perfect, easy, and worth the effort.

More of a destination than a single item, but an important quick thing nonetheless! Etalage specializes in sourcing antique fine art prints, vintage oil paintings, decorative pictures & interior accessories. The inventory changes each month and shipping is relatively fast. I’ve found some great things for our New York apartment on this site, from small prints for our baby’s nursery to a large oil painting for our entry. I recommend signing up for their newsletter to be informed about their drops.

Happy (snowy) weekend! xx

I just know people would take me more seriously in those mules
A privilege and gift <3
